Pump used in petrochemical industry is a large amount of rotary equipment in petrochemical production equipment, it is like the human heart to transport blood as a variety of liquid media such as crude oil, refined oil, chemical raw materials, intermediate products and finished products to other places.
 
According to statistics, there are more than 1000 pumps in a medium-sized oil refinery, of which 83% are centrifugal pumps, 6% are reciprocating pumps, 3% are gear pumps, and the rest are screw pumps and vacuum pumps. A petrochemical plant has more than 2000 pumps, of which centrifugal pumps account for 45%, gear pumps account for 23%, reciprocating pumps and progressing pumps each account for 12%, and shielding pumps account for 6%. These pumps are usually driven by an electric motor. The medium pressure of the petrochemical pump is negative pressure to 300Mpa, and the temperature is from minus 140℃ to nearly 500℃. Some of the medium is viscous, and some also contain solid particles. Most of the medium is corrosive. Petrochemical pump is the most energy consuming equipment, electricity accounts for about 50% of the whole plant electricity.
 
China's petrochemical pump through many years of development, the variety is relatively complete, especially since the introduction of many foreign advanced technology, technical performance and product quality has been greatly improved. But in general, domestic pump products compared with foreign countries, there are many gaps: one is the standardization of the pump, serialization and generalization of the degree of poor. Because each manufacturer has its own series, parts standardization and interchangeability is low, the lack of unified standards, product specifications and models can not meet the needs of the development of the petrochemical industry. Second, poor quality and reliability. This is mainly because the variety of domestic corrosion resistant materials or improper material selection, as well as the processing accuracy is not high; In addition, the pump seal life is low, less varieties. Foreign mechanical seal life can reach about two years, the domestic petrochemical pump has not reached this level. Third, low pump efficiency. Because the domestic pump design model is poor, the processing accuracy is not high, the pump efficiency is generally lower than foreign 2%~3%, so there are a lot of chemical process pumps have to be imported from abroad.
 
In recent years, many domestic pump factories have introduced advanced technology from abroad, so that the technical level of petrochemical pumps has been greatly improved. For example, dalian sulzer pump and compressor company has introduced the technology of Swiss sulzer company, which can produce 43 series of more than 1000 specifications of petrochemical pumps.
 
In the future, with the continuous development of petrochemical industry technology and scale, the requirements for petrochemical pumps are getting higher and higher. In addition to continuing to improve the quality of conventional pumps and expand the specifications of varieties, especially the pump for conveying corrosive materials needs more and more, such as ethylene cracking device, polyethylene device and polypropylene device in ethylene production. Chemical fiber production in the PTA device (refined terephthalic acid), polyester device and polyester spinning device, so we should try to develop corrosion resistant technology. At present, the material of corrosion resistant pump is still a large number of ferrous metal materials, high nickel alloy materials, the future requirements of more titanium, zirconium, tantalum and other excellent corrosion resistant materials, and the development of non-metallic materials such as ceramic, glass fiber reinforced plastic and graphite materials.
